Millennium - CSULB 2000

Hmm, let's just think about this for a minute. Cal State Long Beach, late' 90s, medium quality, gotta be from my mom.
I'm sure she got this as a giveaway item at school or from the CSULB bookstore as like a post 2000 sale -since no one wants millennium stuff after the fact-. While it is rare because the school won't be making these anymore, I don't think anyone is really trolling EBay for those hot limited edition CSULB graphic tees.
The shirt is black with screened ink on the front. The fabric is standard weight, not very high quality or heavy but also not thin and shoddy. This was back when it was harder to print/screen certain effects on black shirts, so they screened white on first as a background then the colors over the top of it. This "color on white" technique makes colors pop but it also wears out differently. Instead of just cracking the top ink is wearing off and the white is coming through.
All that this design is is the words "MILLENNIUM" and "CSULB" with a little sun radiating light just above it. The color scheme is blue and a weird yellow that borders on neon green. It's that particular yellow/white color that looks like glow-in-the-dark ink but after some testing it is definitely not glow-in-the-dark. Those two just about match the school colors (gold and black), plus or minus a few hues. It is surrounded by a few blue dots which I can only imagine are stars or bubbles. This is a really basic design that I could lay out in Microsoft Office.
I never really plan to wear this shirt. I mean I'm not planning on attending any millennium parties anytime soon. In 2000 I was in middle school so a shirt commemorating a college event doesn't do much for me. It works well as a piece of clothing that protects me from the weather, it's not really that cool or interesting. I suppose it comes with a quick story about what the origin of the shirt is and what I was doing around that time. Ohh dang, I just realized that this would have been a perfect shirt to wear on New Years Eve! If memory serves this is the only New Years themed shirt I have... Maybe next time?

Before I started this blog I had way too many shirts and put a bunch in boxes in the attic. Once I got a new dresser and moved some things around I had empty drawers waiting for something. I had this idea for a blog rolling around in my head for a while and so I pulled down my boxes, filled up the drawers, and started from the top. In my normal run, I think this shirt would have sat at the bottom of my pile and never seen the light of day until it hit the Salvation Army bag. So the blog saves a lonely soul of a shirt from a dark demise and a stay up in the attic. Wait, this is totally gonna end up there still... Well I hope it was a fun ride little shirt! Bon Voyage!
