FLYNN LIVES - ElecTRONica Edition

This shirt was a promo item given away at the "Pit Cell" sneak preview screening for the upcoming Tron: Legacy movie.
After watching the trailer they had these shirts available in all sizes for free on a table. It can only be obtained by going to one of the TRON: Legacy events and having it given to you.
Simplicity and design rule this shirt. Black with a detailed white screen, 1 color, medium, everything I'm looking for in a shirt. Also, free.
It's got the words "FLYNN LIVES" on the front in a classic font. This is the name of the viral marketing campaign for this movie and it comes with an accompanying website and community. Flynn Lives is used as an "underground movement" that is trying to make the public aware that the main character of the '80s Tron, Kevin Flynn (Jeff Bridges) is still alive and that the company he was working for in the movie is trying to cover it up.

It channels the idea of glamour back in the '70s and early '80s with clubs and neon signs. It's a reference to the Flynn's arcade sign that carries the same font and style. It's super cool because it is something that you can only get by seeking it out and being in the right place at the right time to have it given to you. If you see someone in this shirt it means they have a story to tell you and have a certain passion about their entertainment choices.
I specifically pick this shirt if I am going to a Tron event, Comic-con, ElecTRONica, Flynn's Arcade, or any of the little meet ups that they host. Having this shirt is a badge, a symbol that you've been somewhere and are in the loop on something new and upcoming and limited. I love what this shirt stands for and want to tell anyone who asks: what it's about and what I have done. (I suppose this is the exact goal of the viral marketing, however, I really appreciate the extra attention to my demographic and lifestyle and want to perpetuate whatever they're doing.)

This evening I went to ElecTRONica at Disneyland. They were holding a special event which was only open to a select number of people who signed up on their website. Once we checked in and got inside we were shown a night of extravagance and pure style. They had a master of ceremonies who brought the evening to live with dancers and strobes and lasers! We went inside to find a sneak peak of the movie in 4D IMAX, a performance by Laserman, the End of Line Club with digital themed drinks and food, a remake of Flynn's arcade (featuring classic games and custom tokens), and a DJ with a dance party rocking the whole park all night long. It was excellent and I can't wait to see what's next!
