Wakfu

I was hoping to get one of these for free but ended up buying it for myself.
These shirts were promo items that were given away at Penny Arcade Expo and New York comic-con I believe. Square Enix had giveaways at their booths when they were trying to promote their new game Wakfu. I was hoping to get one of these or a "Tofu" plush from my boss, but no luck. I saw these online and really wanted one so I sought it out on eBay and bought it. It wasn't as expensive as I had expected, whoever I bought it from got it for free so I guess it's not that out of the ordinary.
I don't have any other shirts in this color. I have some that come close in a sea foam green or a teal but not this nice blue-green. It is one of my favorite colors and I'd love to have more shirts like it. The quality of the fabric is standard and the ink was just printed in full color on the front and back -expensive for a free shirt but it looks great-. It has not worn down yet but this type of detailed printing doesn't typically last long.
I think I don't pay attention to my shirts with designs on the pockets. I had it in my head that I only owned one or two but it looks like I really have a ton. This one took the "Wakfu" logo and put it on the left chest area. On the back is a character from the video game called an "Osamodas". This class/race is an animal summoning class who use magic as well as physical attacks. Below the girl it says "A free to play tactical MMORPG". At the bottom it has the Square Enix and Ankama logos -the publisher and developer respectively-. This is a quasi flash-based game which is the successor to another Tactical MMORPG named "Dofus". Wakfu has been in development for several years now and just started its US closed beta a week or so ago. The MMORPG also has an accompanying animated series that you should totally check out if you haven't yet. All of this is created by the studio "Ankama," a French company without much pedigree in these sort of things, but I have high hopes.

I pick this out of my dresser on a whim. I wanted this rare item very badly, because of this is I want to show it off. They have other Wakfu merchandise like plush dolls, apparel and art books. Buying anything from the official shop has to be shipped from France and ends up costing twice as much in freight costs. Plus, they only have one shirt and it just has the logo on the front. The character is slightly sexy but nothing too crazy, so I like to wear this wherever I can and spread the word of Wakfu. At this point, I'll just start up about the TV show or game in idle conversation because it's so good. I want people to give it a shot, even if they don't like it. It's not quite anime and not quite western animation; the style is fluid, unique and cool. I mean why not try something NEW?

I sometimes wear this around the office to be passive aggressive to the people I work with because I had to go order this from some guy in Sacramento when they had them locally. To be honest, I'm stoked for this upcoming MMORPG since the TV show was so spectacular. I've given the show to a couple friends and been like "WATCH IT! It's awesome!" and they've been open minded. Season two of the animated series is coming up soon so catch up and get on the Wakfu journey. J'entre dans la legende!
